Glen Abbey Homes

Oakville Ontario features homes ranging from $250,000 into the multi-million dollar range. Sections of Oakville include Sherwood Heights, College Park, River Oaks, West Oak Trails, Lakeshore Woods, Old Oakville and of course, Glen Abbey.

The Bronte Creek community is a nice developmet with homes by builders such as Fernbrook and Monarch bordering on the Bronte Creek Provincial Park. With the new hospital being built in the area, Oakville will remain one of the mosoakville homet sought after places to live.

When contemplating the purchase of a home there are many items to consider and many expenses to account for including land transfer tax, loan fees, legal fees, surveys, insurance and inspection fees.

Current interest rates remain very low though, so this is a good time to purchase a home. It seems values continue to edge upward with interest rates at an all time low, the right home is certainly a relative bargain compared to other times in history when rates were very high. See Ontario Housing Update for current information on the Ontario new and resale homes market.

If you are contemplating the sale of a home, common sense will go a long way toward placing the home in it's most positive light. That means decluttering, cleaning and taking care of the outdoor landscaping as well such as tree and bush trimming and fixing any sticky doors or broken decking or fences.

Having the lawn look nice by consistant watering and even a brief watering for a few minute right before an open house can give it that fresh look. Some go through the effort of boiling cinnemon on the stove to give the kitchen a fresh scent. Of course making sure carpets and windows are cleaned and "staging", or setting up the home to help the buyer visualize living in the home also helps. Tables are set, personalized items and pictures are removed so the buyer can better picture themselves living in the home. Home staging for sale involves looking at the home from a perspetive buyers point of view.

Glen Abbey and the surrounding parts of Oakville are growing year after year. More schools and even a new hospital is being built, highways are being widened, bridges are being upgraded and lanes are being widened to accomodate the growth.

A recently built area called Bronte Creek features a brand new community just west of Bronte Road and North of Upper Middle Road. This area continues to be developed and the next sights are being set on redeveloping the Bronte area in the hopes of creating a pedestrian area as well as the inevitable development north of Dundas Road which is currently mostly undeveloped fields. Glen Abbey has many prestigious sections of well maintained homes and close proximity to infrastructure, shops and the main transport arteries such as the 407, 401 and QEW highways.

For commutes to downtown toronto, the Oakville GO train has a few accessable stations for Oakville residents from which a relatively quick commute has them arriving into downtown Toronto. Supporting feeder bus routes are also available in addition to the large parking lots at the GO stations.

Local shopping is abundant and some of the larger shopping plazas include Dorval Crossing (Towne Centre) at the south-east end of Glen Abbey near QEW Highway and Dorval Drive.

Glen Abbey is a family oriented community with parks, pools, splashpads, trails, great schools and after school sports programs, churches, bike paths, walking trails and much more. The entire community is not even thirty years old yet with new developments continuously sprouting up to accommodate this sought after planned community which includes many cul de sacs, crescents, ravines and green space as well as a cross section of housing options including a wide variety of prestigious single family homes, condos, freehold townhomes and condo apartments.
