Swine Flu Pandemic News

-April 22, 2010 - Earth Day again, but nothing in the news about Swine Flu. What a difference a year makes!

-April 29, 2009

Canada joins the list of countries now advising against travel to Mexico because of the swine flu pandemic.

Today Canada issue an advisory from the Public Health Agency advising against all non-essential travel to Mexico.

New cases have cropped up in New Zealand and Israel in addition to the 6 in Canada, over 50 in the U.S. At this time the main problem still seems largely contained to Mexico but public health officials are not taking any chances and are trying to stay in front of a possible pandemic spread which could have serious economic consequences.

The good news is that we are at the tail end of the flu season and perhaps this has been going on awhile in Mexico without properly being classified as a strain of swine flu. We will be keeping a watchful eye on the situation and updating our local community page with further news. Meanwhile, it seems that Mexico trip should be postponed for now.

Canadians returning from Mexico on recent flights to Toronto Pearson airport were greeted by Mask wearing customs officials.
