One of the themes of the new school is "Discovery" down to the brick style of the building. It is very exciting for teachers, staff and students to be able to occupy this brand new school: Palermo Public School.

The appx. 550 student - new dual track school has opened to grade 1-3 French Immersion students where each of the children in this track receives half-day of instruction in English and half-day of instruction in French and a full day English track for grades 1-7. (Grade 8 will remain at existing schools for this year and as of next year the school will be grades 1-8)

Dropoffs are designed for the front and south of the building. Class size adjustments are being made as additional students from the community are being accommodated in accordance with class size restrictions.

Public schools are part of the Halton District School Board and the others are part of Halton Catholic District School Board.
