The Canadian Open is often held here at the Glen Abbey Golf Course. This legacy site shows the development of our community and how life here was 5, 10 and even 20 years ago.
Bronte Creek is a newer Oakville development by quality builders such as Fernbrook and Monarch Homes and is part of the hot Oakville real estate market.
Today there are many beautiful walking and biking trails along with the downtown Oakville and Bronte harbours to enjoy.
Glen Abbey Sports
This summer, kids can enjoy one of Oakville's many outdoor pools and splashpads. The upgraded Community Centre includes a four lane indoor leisure pool, water slide, conversation pool with a capacity of over 150 people.
The Sixteen Mile Sports Complex with quad pad ice surfaces that opened in September, 2010 is one of Oakville's latest additions. The outdoor fields behind the facility include two soccer pitches, baseball diamond and off-leash dog park.
The Oakville Soccer Club is one of the largest in North America with great programs for recreational and competitive soccer players.
Games are played at soccer parks and facilities across Oakville including the new Pine Glen soccer centre.
Jack Nicklaus is the designer and inspiration of the Glen Abbey Golf Course. Saw Whet is also open again for the 2013 season (but the course may not be there for long, so get your rounds in this year - it seems a certain builder may have their eye on it.)
The neighborhood Oakville Gymnastics Club is one of the finest in the world.
In Glen Abbey there are a wide variety of after school sports and activities being offered including swimming, martial arts and even fencing!
Also housed in the same complex as the Community Centre is the Oakville Public Library. You can access many of the library's information online and even access library databases including magazine back issues and statistical databases with a current library card.
From plenty of top notch stores to the quaint landscape and fine restaurants of famous downtown Oakville, our town has an enviable infrastructure and is made up of great people.
Glen Abbey Golf - Canadian Open: The championship returned to the Glen Abbey Golf Club for the 26th time from July 22-28, 2013. Scott Piercy is the 2012 winner of the Canadian Open 2012 which was held at the Hamilton Golf & Country Club in Ontario from July 23-29, 2012. More recent tournaments have also been held.
Oakville's Glen Abbey golf course was designed by Jack Nicklaus and has been visited by leading celebrity golfers including Vijay Singh, Greg Norman, Lee Trevino, Curtis Strange and Tiger Woods with his famous fairway bunker shot.

The lovely Glen Abbey community in the heart of Oakville is located about a 30 minute drive from downtown Toronto and about a 1 hour drive from Niagara Falls.
From the famous Glen Abbey Golf Course to countless trails for walking, biking, hiking or even photography, there is lots to do and plenty of infrastructure including fine restaurants and the quaint ambience of downtown Oakville.
Although Glen Abbey is primarily a residential community there are plenty of year round activities for the whole family.
